ROME
To end off our study abroad trip to Europe, we went to Rome, Italy, famous for such things as pizza, and not putting ice in drinks, and murdering prisoners for the widespread entertainment of the country. It's got fun for the whole family. Seriously though, Rome is a beautiful, elegant, history-packed city with so much to see and do, so here are my highlights.
The first thing we did in Rome was go see the the Vatican, or more formally known as Vatican City. Vatican City has been the center and seat of the Roman Catholic Church since 1929, which, you'll note, is fairly recent. The city is its own nation-state, giving the Pope the power over it without being hindered by the overall government of Italy. We initially went into the museum part of the city, and got to see cool works such as the Sistine Chapel, and The School of Athens painting, both of which were absolutely beautiful, only one of which we were allowed to take pictures of. The Vatican City is a truly iconic location in Rome simply because of its importance to the catholic faith. As a protestant Christian, I do not fully understand the importance of the Pope and the cardinals and such, but I do understand that the artwork and artifacts inside the walls of the Vatican City are beautiful, and thus is their prime value.
The place I was most excited about going in Rome was the Colosseum, a wide ovalesque amphitheater that was originally built in 72 AD by the Roman Emperor Vespasian to revitalize Rome after a tumultuous year of four emperors. While it was in its prime, it saw staggering amounts of gladiator fights, animal hunts, and mock naval battles, all for public entertainment. Despite this bloody and questionable history, the Colosseum is still a revolutionary structure for its time, and it is an iconic tourist destination. While reflecting on this I realized that we treat it like its a theme park. We go and take pictures and have fun, but a mere 2 thousand years ago so many unwilling people were thrown into the arena and they didn't have the chance to come out alive. This amphitheater has lost its significance, and is now nothing more than a tourist trap. Most of the public likely don't think to remember what happened there, myself included. But it is so important to remember the significance it had to those that lost their lives there, filled with terror and pain.
After walking around in Rome for a while, it became wildly clear to me where I was. Not just because of the big monuments and ancient ruins and such, but rather because of the small symbols of the Roman culture. For example, there was a lot of SPQR things. Those four letters were printed on just about every sewer grate, statue, door, you name it. Almost everywhere you looked, the acronym for "Senatus PopulousQue Romanus," or "The Senate and People of Rome," a saying that was used in the original empire, which is why we see it so often today. Another example of the Roman Culture being all in your face is the constant Romulus and Remus statues. They were practically everywhere. The statues are always of infant Romulus and Remus suckling the she-wolf, Lupa (which yes, literally is the feminine of wolf), who raised them. See, Romulus and Remus were the brothers that founded Rome. Well, brother that founded Rome. See they we going to found a city, and it is unclear about what exactly they disagreed about, whether it was the hill to found the city on or what to call it, but either way, Romulus killed his brother and founded Rome. This makes it wildly relevant to modern day Rome. I am unsure as to whether the brothers were actually real, or if they are pseudo historical figures based off of a real king and his brother that he killed. Either way, the brothers are important to Roman culture because it gives them a sense of identity in their founding. They have a myth about their home, that is solidarity if ever I've seen it.

im glad u watched romulus so i can finally ask. what can u say regarding "the issue of the androids and their place in humanity in this universe and the philosophical implications of them and with the act of creating life" (quoted from ur answer to my other ask about prometheus+covenant a few days ago) (that second part about creating life is optional i didn't see as much of that in romulus unless ofc ur talking about the shewolf/lupa from the romulus and remus myth)
i think that one of the things romulus did at least manage to do was continue the thesis of "androids are not inherently good nor evil; their directives and the way their programming changes (due to various circumstances) impact how they interact with humanity and how they engage with the question of 'what is life?'"
like i think andy is a good demonstration of how androids do not purely exist to destroy humanity, nor do all androids think themselves above humans. andy cares, first and foremost, for better or for worse, about rain's wellbeing. do i love how that plays out or the vibes it gives off? not really, no. i think the disability angle was poorly done at best and i don't even really want to get into how bad i really think it was. however, i did like andy, and i think he got at those questions i talked about last time. are androids truly meant to serve humanity? romulus, at least, comes down firmly on the side of "no," which i believe prometheus and covenant align with as well as the rest of the franchise, excepting resurrection and possibly covenant. firstly, all the company androids exist not to serve humanity but to serve the company's best interests-- that is their prime directive. but romulus gets at the notion of what androids SHOULD exist for. andy, the movie argues, should exist because he exists, and he should have the right to self-determination. even if that means he stops doing solely what is in rain's best interest. which, i would argue, is a pretty firm declaration of aliveness. andy is alive because he exists, because he can form his own wants and desires, and because even aside from any existing programming, he has such things.
the same goes for other androids in the series, although their levels of self-created wants and desires are far more nebulous. ash believes humanity to be beneath him; it's unclear how much of that is weyland-yutani programming and how much is his own sense of human folley (rook seems to confirm this originates with the company, as like he says, humanity does not take well to space colonization, and they need to adapt. whether you want to take this as gospel about the original movie, that's a whole other question). bishop has the capacity to choose to save ripley and newt, to help them escape even if it's not directly in the best interests of the company. but he also seems to allow for the idea that they would carry embryos back to earth, and if you look at aliens 3, he also allowed an egg to come with them in the EEV knowing what that would mean for their safety and for the larger safety of humanity. company programming is very strong; even the "good" androids tend to do things within the bounds of continuing to benefit the company, along with maintaining whatever personal relationships they may have. call is a whole other story by virtue of having her weyland-yutani module removed; her goal is to prevent the destruction the xenomorph will cause and she no longer has to obey company programming. call is just a weird one generally, but it's undeniable that she is a person with her own wants and feelings, and her stance seems to be that the company should not have the control that they do, over people, including androids, and over lifeforms that could threaten humanity's survival. david and walter are interesting, mostly the former, in that david is probably meant to be an example of faulty programming, or programming that decays and turns into something new. he decides that he is a superior lifeform, that humans are tools for his creations, and that life is at his fingertips. and its not all that shocking considering that weyland made him and seemed to feel the same about his own ability to create android life. walter's existence and the idea that david was "too human" also seems to indicate that its that capacity for creation that was too much for humanity to handle in an android. walter himself is less interesting, really, aside from the idea that he was in love with daniels, although honestly i thought that came entirely out of left field and may have just been david fucking with him. he maintains his programming pretty effectively, protecting the crew of the covenant. according to the extra ads about him that were created and filmed outside the movie, he was supposed to be personalized and reflect the desires of whoever needs him. so if the idea is that daniels needed someone to protect her, someone who would risk everything for her, i suppose that means that walter followed that prime directive to a t. that doesn't mean that he didn't want to, nor that that directive wasn't driven in part by self-created motives.
all this to say i do think andy gets at that idea of whether androids are truly capable of wanting things for themselves-- it seems like he does, but it could also be that damned chicken or the egg debate; does andy want something because he wants it, or because rain wants him to want it? i don't think that's what's meant to be what's going on within romulus, but it's still an interesting question.
in terms of other ways of that question of creation and life, i think romulus fell very flat. let's not talk about the offspring at the end, who says nothing about creation or life or anything other than that they wanted to put a different tall guy in a rubber suit. it's not even like this was the first human-alien hybrid and yet they went in such an insane and terrible direction with it that said nothing. if you inject yourself with a genome enhancer made from the mysterious black goo, you will give birth to a weird egg sac that will birth a horrible slenderman creature that tries to eat you. and they didn't even have the guts to have it try and breastfeed, which is what i completely expected when it went for kay. i didn't even hate the genome enhancer idea, although i wish it would've tied back in with david more. i just wish it had actually meant anything other than freaky pregnancy. it's like someone watched the alien franchise and understood that there's themes about the anxieties of reproduction and childbirth and the violence involved in both but didn't understand how to actually put those things together in a meaningful way.
idk the whole movie felt like someone watched the franchise and didn't understand what actually makes it good (not all of the movies are good but they are all trying to get at similar concepts and themes) and just went ah, horror movie about creatures that get inside you and are scary. none of the actual fear and revulsion and all that that are central to the original concept or even to giger's artwork were in it. it was utterly sexless and functioned as competent horror inasmuch as there was tension and release and buildup but none of the meat of it. i know i sound so obnoxious but also i love this franchise and think the gross weird body stuff is really key, and that was all missing here.
but anyway on the android side of things i did kind of like it, and i thought david jonsson's performance was pretty good.
[in regard to the she-wolf romulus and remus myth element: aside from the obvious siblings theme going on (rain & andy, tyler & kay, bjorn & navarro) i don't think there's much to say about the significance of that reference. i wish there had been more, i think that would've been interesting, and i think a look at siblings within the alien franchise and how that relationship operates and what sociological hangups we have about those relationships would all be interesting, that's just not what this movie was doing. it also felt like it was kind of stepping into what covenant was trying to do with the all-spouses crew, except that that element of covenant felt like a complete miss too. but yeah i don't think romulus really managed to say anything with that reference aside from that wow those sure are siblings]

Romulus and Remus were, according to the legend, the children of Mars, the Roman god of war. In the version of Plutarch said god raped the daughter of the dispossessed king Numitor, who had to abandon the twins resulting from that incident. The children were put into a wicker basket and set into the river Tiber, while their mother was put into jail. The basket stranded at the bank, a she-wolf heard the children cry and brought them to her cave where she nursed them. A woodpecker joined in feeding them until a shepherd of the new king, the one who dispossessed the old one, took them home with him to raise them as his and his wife‘s own. Long story short, one day Romulus and Remus had a fight with the shepherds of Numitor whom they managed to steal some cattle from. While Romulus was busy with a sacrifice, Remus was caught by these shepherds and brought to Numitor, whom he told what he knew about his and his brother‘s origin. Numitor sensed there was more to Remus‘ story and soon after Romulus was let in on their origin story by their adoptive father as well. He urged Romulus to go and free his brother but on his way to Numitor, Romulus was caught by the new king‘s men, whose name was Amulius, where he was tortured. He told Amulius just enough so that the latter asked Numitor if his two grandsons could still be alive. One rebellion later Romulus arrived to free Remus, the tyrant Amulius got overthrown and killed and that‘s the legend of Romulus and Remus in short 😊 #pagan #heathen #asatru #asatro #paganism #vikings #vikingsofinstagram #pagansofinstagram #ancientrome #rome #romangods #mythology #shewolf #romulus #handmade #remus #mars #anitke #romanpantheon #replica #wicca #witchythings #römer #romanreenactment #replik #säugendewölfin #history #archaeology #livinghistory #reenactment https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx6_pW4CNPT/?igshid=1a0ez5oq6oa51

❤️🔥Love, Lust & Lupercalia❤️🔥
Lupercalia was an ancient pagan festival held each year in Rome on February 15. Although Valentine’s Day shares its name with a martyred Christian saint, some historians believe the holiday is actually an offshoot of Lupercalia.
Unlike Valentine’s Day, however, Lupercalia was a bloody, violent and sexually charged celebration awash with random matchmaking and coupling in the hopes of warding off evil spirits and infertility. No one knows the exact origin of Lupercalia, but it has been traced back as far as the 6th century B.C.
According to Roman legend, the ancient King Amulius ordered Romulus and Remus—his twin nephews and founders of Rome—to be thrown into the Tiber River to drown in retribution for their mother’s broken vow of celibacy.
A servant took pity on them, however, and placed them inside a basket on the river instead. The river-god carried the basket and the brothers downriver to a wild fig tree where it became caught in the branches. The brothers were then rescued and cared for by a she-wolf in a den at the base of Palatine Hill where Rome was founded. The twins were later adopted by a shepherd and his wife and learned their father’s trade. After killing the uncle who’d ordered their death, they found the cave den of the she-wolf who’d nurtured them and named it Lupercal.
It’s thought Lupercalia took place to honor the she-wolf and please the Roman fertility god Lupercus. Sending blessings to you and your loved ones from Mooncraftmagick. 💙💙

my god this mini series is so good>>>>
how would the italies be as the other mother/partner tho??? it's pretty hard to imagine how their deteriorated worlds would look like, but maybe something calling back to the roman empire??
(not exactly the italies but im throwing this here but ignatius would be a wolf bc haha romulus and remus being raised by a shewolf)
sorry for my ask being all over the place, small ideas just kept coming-
There is nothing wrong with small ideas. That is actually how I put my pieces together at times.
I'm gonna start with Fabrizio, since the Southern Italian derseves a bit of the spot light.
His home would be a large studio in the middle of an Italian park. The park contains many different songs birds that are always singing with most vibrant flowers in bloom.
He is able to lure you in with the promise of luxery. The finest clothes, foods, and servants all at your beck and call.
Until it becomes sufficating. You're never truly left alone and your desire for distance snaps you out of his hypnotic trance. In response to the shattering, Fabrizio would look you in with his mannikans, or should I call them what they are?
His previous victims.
As the dream turns into a nightmare he takes on avion treats. The lightening of his skin and hair match the white feathers of swans. Wings, an eleongated neck, and talons make the form that much more horrific.
As you play his game in the now twisted and overgrown park you can only hold to the shaded areas. For if not, you fear that he may swoop down on you from above.
Now for Luciano, our Italian stab happy spongebob.
This man lures people in like a cat trap with butter. His sauve, smooth style makes you feel like his whole world centers around you. Though with each sweet word there is something that feels off about him.
For a while you are content and happy in the loft. Being able to explore between the various small shops and neighbors. Its not until you notice disturbing changes that you distance yourself.
At you distance, Luciano reveals his indulgence for stabbing as his begins to change. His low-half snaps it becomes the body of a buck. The bones twist and grow rapidly to support their host's weight as sharp antlers grow from this razor mouthed monster.
You scream as you feel in to ruins of the once beautiful Italian cityscape. He's never far behind, for this deer has teriffying speed and stamina.
Since you mentioned him, I'll throw Rome in for fun!
His goal would be to conquer your heart wholey and completely. His lure would be the gift of his protection and the fulfillment of your most primative desires.
It must be nice at first to live like those of old did, at least in terms of the luxerious side. As time goes on, Ignatius' claws will dig deeper into your flesh. All with the attempt at preventing you from leaving.
I agree he would follow the caniade family. I personally see him as something older though. Maybe an Epicyon, or a bone-crushing dog.
His final form would be involve the devlopment of a large, wide snout. Long, copper hair that would eventaully become a large and long mane over his form.
At your resistance, he will growl and howl at you to run for his sick game of hide and seek. It will be difficult to navigate the Roman structures now that some have collaspsed and eroded to unstable points. One wrong sneeze and you may bury the door that leads to your safety.

Think fast! What's your favourite mythical figure/ deity / beast and why? (Syu wanna learn more mythology)
Which mythology????
Did I expect this to take me two+ hours to type up? No. But you asked for this.
Egyptian it has to be Ma'at. Ma'at is the goddess that uses her feather to balance an individuals heart on Anubis's scales when they are in the after life. She is a goddess of balance in the universe. Idk I have just always been attracted to her as a goddess that I enjoy. In Greek mythology, there is the tale of Persephone and Hades. An oldie but a classic. Also if you like so good 2D platforming there is this game I LOVE. An indie game called Apotheon. It deals with a lot of Greek mythology in a fun game. But also there is just so many tales that it is hard to choose. In Roman mythology, I really enjoy the Romulus and Remus tale. Again, pretty classic but it is interesting that the founding of Rome was established based on twins that were raised by a shewolf (and also a little sad because one twin killed the other). Also, if you are interested in tales/stories the Metamorphoses and the tales of Julius Caesar are very good. Going further North, we have even more tales: This one isn't mythological or anything but there was historically a Celtic queen that united the Celtic people and revolted against the Roman invasion. Boudica! The Romans HATED her because she was a thorn in their sides and I RESPECT her for it as well as her leadership skills. Celtic also ties very closely with Irish mythology and there is a tale of Cú Chulainn. I learned about him from MiracleofSound video. If you want some good folk metal and to learn his tale I would def check it out! Celtic, Scottish, and Irish mythology deals heavily with Nature so there isn't a specific sort of tale I could give you. (that and I haven't looked much into it as I was more interested in the history and culture of the people). Also, there are many tales of creatures and the like that are region-based so there are just soooo many. I did do a KakaIru fic featuring two of the legends but haven't explored more. Norse mythology is pretty much the same with my knowledge though I do know some stuff thanks to the likes of God of War 4 and (loosely) Marvel movies. You have the Valkeries that ride into battle to carry those humans that gotten a spot in Vahalla (cause who doesn't love that?). But again, this is just one of those pantheons that there are so many good tales it is hard to choose from. If you move further to Asia, there are a lot of tales. Mostly the stuff I have looked up revolves around death, like the pocong- a ghost in a shroud whose origins are from Indonesia. If you would like some spooky tales (both supernatural and otherwise) I would suggest checking out Lazy Masquerade . Also, yokai are very fascinating. Cause Yokai aren't technically monsters in the typical sense of Western Standards. But if you want to learn more about them, I usually go to this nifty website. Moving over to North America there are Aztec legends. I don't know much about them either except for what I know from the MOBA game Smite. Quetzalcoatl is one of my favs that I have learned about but there are many more Aztec gods/goddesses. There is also the tale of the founding of one of their major cities: "The Aztecs claimed that an idol of Huitzilopochtli had led them south during their long migration and told them to build their capital on the site where an eagle was seen eating a snake. The cult of Huitzilopochtli was especially strong in Tenochtitlán, which regarded him as the city's founding god." 1 2
This is also where the Mexico Coat of Arms comes from.
Moving up, there are Native American legends. Once again, the legends I know of are really spooky stuff. For some good tales, you can listen to Mr. Sinister. He does tales about Skin Walkers and Wendigos. But there are also beautiful tales such as Where the Two Came to Their Father. It is a tale of the Navaho People and used during War Ceremonies. I am not well versed on it fully but the story was told to an author to ensure that the legend would live on as (sadly) it wasn't passed down often. This leads into a WHOLE bunch of shit which isn't the focus of your question. That can be a totally different topic of cultural annihilation through the destruction of folklore.
And then moving FURTHER up there are tales from the Inuit people. This isn't something I am well versed in and I won't pretend I am. But it should be mention because it is the focus of some games like Never Alone (which I still need to play). I'm sorry I can't give you more but I am sure there are some wonderful tales for you to explore if you desire. Then there are tales that I have learned off hand. Such the Finnish tale of how the Aurora Borealis came to be. I learned it thanks to this video that was inspired by the tale.
And then if you want to learn about some spooky stuff all over the world you can do a check of this playlist. Has a lot of spooky urban legends for you to explore in a quick top 10 format.
This list doesn't include many different cultures. There aren't any from African countries or Australia or India or Middle Eastern countries or A WHOLE BUNCH OF AREAS. fikfnafjvnjafndvasdnf SO. Did not expect this to be so long but I hope you found some answers and something to explore :D
#mythology#folklore#urban legends#history#I do not claim to be an expert#this is just hobby stuff#and I am rusty on some of the older stuff#sorry#mala rambles

Rise of Rome Tumblr Post#1
In the story of the founding of Rome, Romulus and Remus(pictured above) are said to have been born by the Tiber river and raised by a shewolf. As the mythological epic of the twin brothers goes, they are raised in the land that is soon to be Rome. As the twin brothers grow up, they go on to become amazing natural leaders as a testament to their legacy. Remus is then captured by the king for stepping on Numitor’s land, Romulus is able to escape after fighting back. This scene foreshadows the upcoming event as Romulus is able to fight and murder the king through a trap and is able to become reacquainted with Remus. The twins jointly built a “unified community” on the land that they had played on for years. Romulus took over the famous Palatine hill while remus took over the Aventine hill. Then after the community had been built, the people were forced to decide on a king as the twin brothers had no seniority seen from age. In roman ritual, the argument turned into war and bloodshed and Romulus killed Remus to hail himself as the true king. This is explained by the meme above about the joke of Rome vs Reme. From the epic legend of the foundation of Rome, Livy uses the mythological tale of Romulus and Remus to describe the character of the romans and even the empire. Their tales of leadership and war set the story up for the telling of the historically true events as told by Livy.
Romulus’ tale even influences today as his icon, the wolf, is the icon for A.S. Roma. As soccer matters a lot for the romans, this is a great symbol for the whole city by its devotion for keeping their history. After living in Rome for 3.5 months and taking a Renaissance Rome art history course, I can truly say that there is no other city that is packed with as much visible history and pride in the past.

Introducing my OCs
So last week I shared a couple of my fiction children, only the queer ones, so I figured now was a good time to bring out the whole shebang. Funny enough, about two or three of them are actually straight, so there aren’t too many new faces, but hopefully some new info should spice things up.
At the moment, these characters aren’t a part of a specific story (except maybe Reg and Diana, I’m still toying with them) outside of some roleplaying I do with a friend. Maybe I’ll actually have time to create something with them, but we’ll see.
Without further ado, here they are.
Reg/Regulus: A Direwolf, the unknown and forgotten triplet affiliated with Romulus and Remus. They were abandoned at birth and raised by a she-wolf, eventually becoming the first werewolves. Reg was the weakest and the runt of the litter, picked on mercilessly by his brothers. However, the goddess of the hunt and the Moon, Diana, favored him and he eventually became like a familiar and companion to her. With her being tied to his, this gave him an immense boost in power, changing him into something entirely. He became the first Direwolf and sired an entire species.
Direwolves are, essentially, werewolves amped up to the nth degree. They are stronger, bigger, faster, and able to shift at will. Unfortunately their power is entirely tied to the Moon, like Diana’s, so their powers weaken the more it wanes. This makes them easy targets for werewolves, who hold a grudge out for the entire species. Reg, who holds a closer bond to Diana, is not affected by these changes, but there is only so much he can do to protect his people.
Reg is kind, gentle, and evokes a peaceful energy. He has been around for millennia, serving Diana while also trying to find his place in the world. Even to this day, he questions if he truly deserves the power she has bestowed upon him.
Diana: Goddess of the hunt and the moon. She has known Reg and his family since they were infants, as their mother was once one of her devout worshippers. Unfortunately, the mother died in childbirth and Diana tasked a shewolf to raise the children. She took easily to Reg, who had a good heart and noble disposition. His brothers were arrogant and too quick to throw around their power and strength. Once he was of age, she tied Reg to her being, giving him the power that matched his strong spirit. She occasionally tasks him with the odd job or message to send, but their relationship is more of dear friends than a boss and her employer.
Nadia: Child of Reg. Direwolf. She has many of Reg’s good qualities, but with a more assertive disposition. She is stubborn and strong-willed, and willing to do anything to protect her family. Oddly enough, eventually she falls in love with a werewolf, prompting a Romeo and Juliet situation, and it ends just about as well. She survives with the children she had with him, but lives in regret that she couldn’t do more.
Caleb: Son of Nadia. Direwolf. Definitely the more strong, silent type that is quick to anger. Has very little sense of humor, but can be snarky from time to time. Due to the mixing of Dire and werewolf blood, his shapeshifting capabilities are somewhat hindered. He is mostly stuck in the shape of a large black wolf, and can only assert human shape when the moon is full. His family has done everything they could to help, but there is nothing that can be done. Oddly enough, Caleb prefers it like this.
Fer/Ferris: Son of Nadia. Direwolf. Despite his brother’s condition, his shapeshifting capabilities are like any other Direwolf’s, but he’s mostly on the runty side. He makes up for this by having a big personality, being very boisterous most of the time. Is the more wily of the two brothers, more prone to taking risks and spur of the moment decisions. This has gotten him into a bit of trouble now and again, but he somehow manages to get out of it.
Nox: A God of Darkness. While that moniker is a bit foreboding, Nox is not actually all gloom and doom. They are mostly in a chill and relaxed state, very level-headed and willing to listen to reason. They appear as a non-corporeal impish creature, though their form can shift into anything they want. Most of the time, they do not choose to take a more human shape as they find it very constraining and claustrophobic.
Cas/Casimir: Child of Nox. A Nightmare: At some point, Nox becomes involved with a Unicorn, a being of pure Light and Purity. This results in Casimir, who definitely takes more after Nox. Unlike them, however, Cas takes a more human appearance, drawn towards a more gothic aesthetic. He is sensible, mysterious, and has a gentle and soft heart despite his somewhat chilling demeanor. He can take an equine form, and he eventually gets a job as a steed for a Grim Reaper. (As a side note: no, he does not appreciate those, “getting rode by death jokes” and one would be wise not to bring it up). He has seen that there must be a balance between life and death and believes everything must end in their own time.
Locke: A Dragon. Locke is very shy, withdrawn, but can be excellent company once he opens up to people. He is very much not like other dragons, taking more of an interest in books and learning than keeping a hoard of treasures and terrorizing villages. In fact, when venturing out into the world, he tries to keep hidden all the draconic features that carry with him to his human form. He passes off the black scales on his cheeks as freckles, and shaves down his horns so that they can be covered by a large hat. Only his eyes make people glance twice. He is easy to startle and excite, which may not be a wise idea, as that’s when his acid-spitting defense mechanism kicks in. Better not stand too close when that happens.
Azul: A Dragon. Child of Locke. Like their father, Azul has more practical interests than just obsessing over treasure. They are obsessed with how the world works and how just the slightest bit of innovation can change it. They become a scientist, mostly a chemist, and tries to figure out the mysteries of life. Unlike Locke, they are straight forward, sarcastic, and somewhat dry-witted. Just as Locke can be absorbed by a good story, Azul can loose themself in science and a good swim.
Tommy: A God of Rebellion. He was once just an average kid until godhood was suddenly thrust upon him. (i.e. still in development). Tommy is rash, bold, funny, and all around just a little shit. Imagine if there were a Peter Pan for young adults, but was more engaged in activism. As Tommy knows that young people are the ones who thirst the most for rebellion, he aligns himself with them and mostly sticks to the appearance of a punk rock looking 18-21 year old. Tommy looks to rid the injustices that plague the world, constantly looking for followers to take up the cause. His favorite alternative form is that of a crow, and will adopt wings in his human form, whether it be because of ease or aesthetic.
I would love to hear any feedback about them! Feel free to ask questions about them or even ask something to the character directly. It helps so much in rounding out their personalities!
